WHAT TO EXPECT

Group Size: max 5 participants

Each hide will accomodate only two people ensuring that there will plenty of room in the 3 hides that we will occupy. A small group allows for a more personalised and intimate experience, and I will rotate amongst all the participants as much as possible. I aim to be available to all the participants throughout the tour and will assist with any question that may arise.

What to bring (this will not be provided by your host)

Your photographic equipment - check recommendations
Any medication you may need for the duration of the tour.
We will be sheltered by the hides, so adverse weather is not something we need to be concerned with, but please bring what you would consider to be suitable clothing.
Optional: Binoculars

Walking during the workshop

There may be some short walks when approaching the hides and you may want to explore some of the areas close to the lodging, on foot. Apart from this, there should be no further strenuous walking.

Transportation and Parking

Transfers between the airport (Ljubljana) and the guest house is included. As is the transportation from the guesthouse to the hides. We don't envisage that any other transportation may be required.

Food

All meals are included and will be served at the guest house - any allergies and special requirements will need to be advised and arranged prior to departure.

Whatever your knowledge and experience, you are welcome! All levels of photography are catered for.

DETAILED ITENARY

Day 1

Morning: Meet at the airport by agreed time and transfer to Guest House

Lunch: Check-in, followed by Lunch with informal get together and chat. Meeting with guide and photo guide

Afternoon: Technical workshop discussing photo techniques, settings, equipment, etc

Dinner and preparation for first day of shooting

Overnight at guesthouse

Day 2 and 3

Morning: A hearty breakfast is followed by a photographic session at the "water-station hide".

Lunch at the guesthouse by about 12:00

Afternoon: The main event - Bear photography in hides (approx 14:00 to 20:00)

Dinner and preparation for next day of shooting

Overnight at guesthouse

Day 4

The same as day 2 and 3 except that a post-processing session will be covered before lunch (approx 2 hours)

Day 5

After a final delicious breakfast and undoubtedly an animated discussion of the adventure of the last few days, we departure with a transfer to the airport. No photography.

Tuition, Field Craft, Techniques

I will be available all the time to discuss any techniques, camera setting or field craft that you may need help with. Two sessions are given to help everyone with the aspects of this photography trip - a technical session on Day 1 to prepare you for the photographic sessions and a post-processing session on Day 4 to help you think about how you will edit your photos and produce your final images.
